Thanks to sevendeadlyfun for THIS POST (f'locked, unfortunately, although if you check her personal LJ she has posted it there too) letting us know that a heap of authors have had their fics translated into Italian and reposted without permission.

Ted made a last adjustment to the drive mechanism before clamping her sternum closed and the smoothing the skin back over the maintenance cavity. He leant down, inhaling her scent. Brushing her lips with a gentle kiss, he smiled in welcome when her eyes flickered open.

Hand in hand, they stepped over the girl’s broken body.

“I told her I don't stand for that kind of malarkey in my house!”

“She should have listened,” Joyce agreed, nodding wisely before turning to smile brilliantly at him once more.

Husband and wife is meant to be forever. This time they would be.

Showtime

Booted feet fell silently on the hard ground as he moved, accomplishing his task with the ease and efficiency of practice. His gaze fell on the large bed, lingering for a moment as he gritted his teeth against both the images that flooded his mind, and the muffled sounds that floated down from above. Shaking it off, he carefully placed the last egg before pulling the slip of paper from his pocket and reading the incantation to break the stasis spell that had been placed on them.

“Showtime,” he muttered quietly as he slipped silently back out into the tunnels.

My Choice

Murmuring soft words of comfort, she ran her fingers gently through his hair in time with her voice.

The bus jerked to a stop and everyone piled out, leaving them alone in the darkened back corner.

Through the blacked-out windows, she could hear them talking; the collective murmur of excitement, grief, and relief followed by the startled gasps and Giles’ quietly posed question, “I don’t understand. What did this?”

“Spike,” Faith answered succinctly.

Buffy and Faith’s relationship had slowly been improving since the dark-haired slayer’s unexpected arrival in Sunnydale—they’d had their ups and downs, but on the whole things had been looking up; however, Buffy had never been more grateful for Faith’s presence than in those last few moments inside the Hellmouth.

Despite his protests, she’d ripped the amulet from around Spike’s neck, and as their world crumbled around them, Faith had helped her manhandle the stubborn vampire—who’d insisted that he still had a job to do—out of the cavern and to safety. At some point during their flight he’d lost consciousness and Buffy couldn’t help but feel it was a mercy; his face was ravaged with cuts and burns and she knew that his clothes hid similar, if not worse.

A soft moan drew her attention once more to the vampire; blood had soaked her pants where his head rested in her lap, and his hair was dark and matted where it had dried. “Shh,” she told him, bending to brush a soft kiss against his curls. “It’s going to be alright. I promise.” She dashed away the tears that gathered, before caressing his cheek gently, being careful not to cause him any further pain. “I love you, Spike. I came so close to…” She sniffed, her voice choked with emotion as she continued, “to losing you. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you,” she added quietly.

She watched dispassionately as the others piled back onto the bus. The former potentials cast curious glances towards the back of the bus, then gathered together in the front seats to whisper amongst themselves. Giles looked around then started down the aisle towards her. She subconsciously drew Spike closer, wincing when her actions caused him to moan once more. “I’m sorry,” she soothed gently.

Squaring her shoulders, she lifted her head and prepared to face down her watcher's ire.

“How is he?”

Giles’ quiet concern startled her. “Not good,” she answered, her lip trembling as she deflated. “But he’ll be okay with rest—and blood,” she added.

He nodded, adjusting his glasses as he turned away. “We best be going, then. We’ll arrange for blood when we stop. I believe we have enough slayers onboard to have him back on his feet in no time.”

Things That Go Bump in the Night

“What is wrong with you?”

“What’s wrong with me?” He blinked, accepting the proffered glass; surely it was obvious? His eyes flicked rapidly around the room, searching the shadows. “Spike,” he spat. “What else?”

“Well, I admit he can be rather irritating, but I hardly see…”

“That’s it, you don’t… No one does. You don’t know him the way I do. He’s up to something. I know he is.”

“Angel…”

“No, you don’t understand. He wants what I have. He always has. He can’t stand for me to have anything.”

“That’s ridiculous. When was the last time you slept? It’s a known fact that sleep deprivation can lead to paranoia.”

“I can’t sleep.” He plonked the empty tumbler on the desk. “I wake up and he’s there… Watching me. Plotting.”

“Plotting? What could he be plotting? Angel, he’s incorporeal.”

“Is he? I mean, we don’t know that, do we? It could all just be an act, or a spell, or… or something.” He blinked again, trying to clear his suddenly-distorted vision. Lifting a shaking hand to rub his eyes, he turned in horror to his companion. “Wesley?”

“Yes, Angel?”

“Did you... Did you drug me?” he asked in disbelief before slumping unconscious to the floor.

Wesley sighed and collected a blanket from the couch, laying it over the now-snoring vampire as he answered, “Yes, I did. But it was for your own good.” With a shrug and a crooked smile he added quietly to himself, “And for everyone else’s, too.”

Flicking off the light and closing the door quietly behind him, the former watcher went to let the rest of the AI crew know that his mission had been a success.

A shadowy shape emerged from the darkness, gaining form as it moved. A rumbling laugh sounded as it made its way over to the sleeping vampire.

A quick scan of the desk and the grin widened. “Well, well. What have we here?”

Focusing his will, the blonde reached out, grasping the tube carefully. He unscrewed the lid and squeezed the contents into Angel’s hair; adding a handful of coloured paperclips as a final embellishment and dropping the now-empty Superglue tube in the bin.

“Always said you were a poof.” Spike grinned. “Now let’s see what’s so ‘urgent and confidential’,” he added, flipping open the marked folder on the desk.
