Showtime
Booted feet fell silently on the hard ground as he moved, accomplishing his task with the ease and efficiency of practice. His gaze fell on the large bed, lingering for a moment as he gritted his teeth against both the images that flooded his mind, and the muffled sounds that floated down from above. Shaking it off, he carefully placed the last egg before pulling the slip of paper from his pocket and reading the incantation to break the stasis spell that had been placed on them.
“Showtime,” he muttered quietly as he slipped silently back out into the tunnels. |
